About the program

The goal of the program:

Creation of a support system for agrotechnical measures in crop production based on a set of monitoring systems and artificial intelligence methods that ensure increased efficiency of forage agricultural production.

Expected results:

1. A prototype of an unmanned aerial platform and associated mounted and ground equipment for agricultural fields monitoring and obtained data processing.

2. Methods, algorithms and software for data and images processing from the UAP to solve problems of flight planning, monitoring and agricultural fields mapping  involved in the production of plant feed.

3. Technical documentation and user documentation to ensure the use of the system.

4. Recommendations for specialists training in the field of monitoring and forecasting system usage.

Fundamental differences of design solution

1. Comprehensive integrated monitoring using multi-altitude remote sensing.

2. Wide application of machine learning methods for identification, classification and yield forecasting.

3. Use of planning flights methods with artificial intelligence algorithms.

4. Methods and technical means of using UAVs for low-altitude monitoring, methods of yield forecasting and development of crops based on machine learning models, data analysis system and displaing the results of monitoring and forecasting.

Economic effect

1. The reduction of costs for herbicides and fertilizers in Kazakhstan, can be up to 1,500 tenge per hectare or more when using no-till, strip-till technologies (soil cultivation without plowing);

2. Reducing the cost of production, for example, for rapeseed to $240 per hectare;

3. Reducing costs for field monitoring.

Ecological effect: reduction the amount of herbicides/pesticides and fertilizers used. Social effect: increasing the educational level of specialists and the emergence of new professions that lie at the intersection of data science, agriculture and robotics
